The role of grand pianos is to deepen the culture of the piano.
Through our pianos, KAWAI also plays a role in enhancing music culture.
We wish to increase the number of music lovers by meeting customers and talking with them face to face at stores and music schools,
and through our regularly-held concert activities.
We are hoping for this to become a reality as we continue to put effort into these important social activities.

When I was a freshman, I sold an upright piano to the family of a six-year-old child. When I delivered the piano to the family, I played Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” for the child. 20 years later, the child became a piano teacher and came to buy a grand piano. This customer was impressed by the piece that I played and decided to become a piano teacher.

Shigeru Kawai instruments are utilized throughout the competition, ensuring their beautiful sound is heard by a large audience around the world.
